Hello everyone!

Today I want to talk to you about something that perhaps you have heard too much of: Why live in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit? Well, I can think of a thousand reasons…

I have been living in the region for more than 25 years and I can presume that I know it almost completely, although I always find something that surprises me. There are many and varied factors that make this region the ideal place to live, and believe me, it is not a set phrase. The main reason is that here they will find the quality of life that other internationally famous destinations do not offer.

Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit are two destinations that still preserve their natural essence, which is why they are very popular among American and Canadian retirees, who are looking for a more peaceful place and a more relaxed lifestyle to live.

In the case of Puerto Vallarta, it is a picturesque place that until a few years ago was considered a fishing town and is now one of the most important tourist cities in the world, with more than 300 residents who live there full time.

In addition to being a tourist paradise, Puerto Vallarta is one of the safest and friendliest cities to live in. In October 2017, INEGI named it the second safest city in Mexico after Mérida, Yucatán. In 2010 it was named “Mexico’s Best Vacation Destination” by USNews.com; that same year it was named “The best place to retire worldwide” by the AARP (American Association of Retired Persons), and in 2003 it was voted “The friendliest city in the world” by Condé Nast magazine.

For its part, the Riviera Nayarit is a true jewel recognized for its versatility, such as its location, excellent climate, beautiful beaches and sites for ecotourism and adventure, all seasoned with a rich cuisine and an enviable natural environment that give it its magic. without equal.

This tourist corridor covers 307 km of coastline in the western region of Mexico, in one of the richest regions in biodiversity, with wide spaces surrounded by nature. The destination is made up of 23 traditional towns located by the sea, separated by several kilometers from each other and surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes.

Both destinations offer excellent areas to live, retire and invest, each with its own characteristics and charm. The most popular areas are, in Puerto Vallarta, Downtown, the Romantic Zone, Marina, the Hotel Zone and the South Coast, and in the Riviera Nayarit we have Nuevo Vallarta, Punta de Mita, Costa Banderas and the North Coast, in the which towns such as Bucerías, Sayulita and San Pancho are located.

In terms of services and amenities, this Pacific region can be compared to any other cosmopolitan destination in the world by offering all the services and comforts that a temporary or permanent resident could wish for.

Some of the aspects that I would like to highlight are its beaches and first class services (although there are also a good number of almost virgin beaches); luxurious beach clubs and spas, restaurants that offer the most varied gastronomic offer, shopping centers, supermarkets, cultural and recreational activities and, of course, outdoor, water and land sports such as surfing and golf, to name a few.

Residents of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit also benefit from the direct connectivity offered by the “Gustavo Díaz Ordaz” International Airport with major cities in the United States and Canada, just 3 or 5 hours away.

For all this and much more, living in this region is something that I recommend, with true knowledge of the facts.
